Wassup??

Wondering what you’d find here, huh? Well, just a little bit more about PTB and what’s cookin.

Let’s start with music….LIVE IT>>>LOVE IT!! I’ve been a DJ since I was around 15 years old or so. Always had the latest tracks and began mixing and scratching before it was REALLY popular! I did a lot of custom-made mixes for dance groups and talent shows, even performed in a few (smile) After DJing at enough dances, parties, college and high school, birthdays and receptions, I decided to hang up the headphones and retire at an early age..(Hee hee) After a brief retirement, one after another, people began to call…..Needless to say, as time permits, I’M STILL DJing!!!

Now, the type of music I dig is mainly Contemporary Jazz. Something with a Slammin’ bassline and a singable melody, not too commercial, but something a lil’ different! Solid drums are also a must. I listen heavily to such greats as Jeff Lorber, David Sanborn, George Duke, Alex Bugnon, Bob James, just to name a few in that genre.

I also immerse myself in some serious FUNK….George Clinton, Parliament, Funkadelic, Bernie Worrell, Bootsy Collins and a host of other Funkateers!! This stuff gets under your skin and you can’t get loose!!!!

Not too far away also in my collection of CDs is the Contemporary Gospel stuff!!
Fred Hammond, Commissioned, Mary Mary, Tonex….Currently, I’m listening to Israel Houghton and New Breed (Real and New Season cds) They are both filling my musical and spiritual plate!!!!! Check out both cds..both are great!!!

I spend a lot of time keeping up with what’s hot in electronics, Audio/Video, CDs, DVDs, computer toys and the like. A lot of people who know me well call me “Gadget Man”!!! I’m into remote control cars and collecting Hot Wheels (I have over 300 so far, at last count!!!)

Also, there has been a resurgence of Ping-Pong or table tennis, in my home. We used to have tournaments growing up and everyone would be in my basement waiting their turn to go at it. Even, Jere B got in a couple games now and then! But this is a new millennium and its time for new matches to begin!! I’ll keep you guys posted whose winning in the SounDoctrine UN-Official Ping-Pong tournaments!!!
